Description

I've been after this nebula since I first saw it on astrobin this year, it's just such a beautiful target. So on a spring break to Bonaire (~11 Deg N) I was able to find a wonderful South facing spot to shoot this high in the sky. It's lost in trees and mired in the Detroit light dome for me at home. This was taken with an Askar 200 mm, ASI2600 MC, Pro and AM5 mount, which I must say was an awesome travel set up. The exposure is 4 hrs 15 mins of data shot through an LExt filter and then combined with stars from 20 mins shot through and LPro filter.

I was really pleased with the results and have to say the OSC workflow is a joy, especially when one has frequent clouds coming through and interrupting imaging.

I like to think the Dolphin is charging through the waves to catch all those sparkling fish in M41.....

Clear Skies
